Chicago Public Media partnered with V Three Studios to modernize the NPR Studios & Production Core at WBEZ's Navy Pier facility. This extensive 7,600 sqft rebuild includes new On-Air Studios for News and Music Discovery, Production Studios, News Update Studios, Podcasting Studios, Video Content Creation Studios, a Master Control, and a fully revamped Tech Ops Center, enhancing content production for the new media age. Adjacent to the new studios and technical core, a former audio recording suite has been transformed into a live audio & video performance studio, maximizing A/V content creation flexibility.

The redesign of the NPR Studios & Production Core at WBEZ was strategically planned to modernize the facility for future adaptability, enhancing visual connectivity among the On-Air News Studio, News Floor, and Master Control to support intuitive content creation. The transformation immerses staff and visitors in an environment that celebrates Chicago's unique character and spirit. Key infrastructure improvements include discreetly integrated cable trays and conduits within a sleek design. Newly introduced acoustic doors and large studio windows bring daylight into previously enclosed spaces, improving circulation and enhancing visual links. Design elements like black cork flooring, warm wood ceilings, and custom wall graphics embody Chicago's vibrant spirit, creating a dynamic, visually immersive workspace that fosters innovation and community engagement.
