St. Louis Art Museum | Danforth Gallery
St. Louis, Missouri
The St. Louis Art Museum recently opened to the public it’s rare collection of Native American art and artifacts acquired by the Danforth Family. This 1,350 SF Danforth Gallery renovation required a new lighting design to effectively display these sensitive natural fiber artifacts. This required the removal of natural light in the gallery, analysis of lighting angles, type of fixtures, track systems, and flexible fixture placement options to properly illuminate art and artifacts in a low-light environment. The lighting system was also thoughtfully designed to allow flexibility of gallery use for future exhibits.
